National Pledge of India-

The National Pledge of India is an oath recited during Formal gatherings, school assemblies, Public events, Formal ceremonies and other national occasions like Independence day (15 August) and Republic day (26 January). The lyrics of the national pledge of India are as follows:

India is my country and all Indians are my brothers and sisters.

I love my country and i am proud of its rich and varied heritage.

I shall always strive to be worthy of it.

I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders respect and treat everyone with courtesy.

To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion.

In their well-being and prosperity alone lies my happiness.

The composer of National Pledge of India-

Pydimarri Venkata Subba Rao, a Telugu author was the composer of the National Pledge of India. He was born at Anneparthy, Nalgonda, Telangana, India in 10 june 1916 and died at 13 august 1988.

During reciting the National Pledge of India, people clench their right fist to the left part of chest showing a gesture of nationality and loyalty to the nation. National Pledge is usually printed in the opening pages of school textbooks, Government documents, calenders, etc.
